My desire is always to work in soccer/football at the highest level. Developing, observing, and recruiting players are some of my greatest passions. Adding to my considerable coaching experience, I've always had a strong connection with youth development, which is truly the main goal of my career. Helping players to get to the highest level possible is my priority.  The experience of working with so many players of different nationalities in youth soccer has given me the tools to help young athletes achieve their goals.

I'm Pedro Loureiro, a 28 years-old UEFA B coach from Portugal. I'm the current Coach of U12 team of Sporting Clube de Portugal. I have 10 years of experience as a football coach and scout at Sporting CP, among others. During this time,  I had the opportunity to coach ages between U7 and U17 and help to develop elite young football players. My main objective in technical skills is to develop individual technical skills and improve body
movement techniques, increasing players’ resources to overcome in-game adversities. Regarding tactical skill, the main objective is to help the player to understand the occupation of the field better so that the player can maximum succeed in his actions.

I began coaching in 2011, and am a  UEFA B Goalkeeper Coach from Portugal.  I have experience in both men's and women's football, also with young and senior team.

For 6 years, I worked with Sporting Clube de Portugal Academy. During this time,  I was able to learn and work with some of the best individuals,  and follow the fantastic evolution and great methodologies of this specific position that is goalkeeping. 

My  goal as a Goalkeeper Coach is to focus on two aspects; the individual technical performance,  and how the goalkeeper is integrated at a strategic level in the team and how this role can be improved in the game model.

My journey in football started 28 years ago, when I began  as a player.  When my playing career ended,  I  knew that becoming a coach was the next natural step. My career as a coach in 2009 in a small club in Lisbon. From there I went to Sporting Clube de Portugal  to work with elite youth players. I also had the opportunity to work abroad and expand my knowledge and experience, one year in Harju JK (Estonia) and one year in Al Nasr(United Arab Emirates), and then returning to Sporting CP. During my time at Sporting CP, was able to work with emerging top players such as  Nuno Mendes(PSG), Gonçalo Inácio(SCP), Dário Essugo(SCP), Mateus Fernandes (SCP), among others that are now rising in Sporting CP first team.

 

To teach, to train,  and  to extract the best from my players is my daily motivation. Knowing that I can contribute my knowledge and experience to their development makes me feel proud. Their victories and achievements are my victories.

My football journey began 30 years ago. I started out as as a player myself from an early age, and then having the prestigious opportunity to represent the Portuguese National Team. My coaching career began in 2007 at Leixões Sport Clube, where I later also worked as coordinator at various levels. I love working with  formative and developmental soccer because I can both teach and learn at the same time. Since 2018, I have also been the Women's Head Coach of the AFPORTO (Porto's Football Association) regional teams. My main goal is to help everyone around me and allow them to grow, regardless of the level they are at.
